A peer mediation program that helps students to handle the realities of high school conflict.

This student-driven training program in mediation is customized to address the realities of high school conflict. Students learn basic skills in understanding anger, active listening, empathy and open and closed questioning. Participants then practise role plays in a five-step approach to mediation using case studies drawn from actual incidents.

“What has impressed me is their ability to inspire the youth that they train to implement their own learning—by leading workshops, community circles, engaging in conflict mediation and more. This is the way to ensure long-lasting change.”
Sally Spofforth, Student Leadership (Retired), Marc Garneau C.I.

“Over a short period of time, Trinity has effectively customized a program to meet the needs of our school and our students by examining ways to create a safe and caring school culture.”
Millean Kung, Vice Principal, York Humber High School
